It's nearly as bad as people who buy MGCD's to do a Dreamcast cab. I know I was one of them. It is probably the bang for the buck ratio for the PSP. It will set you back 300 clams then comes the games at $30 - $40 each then the mem cards at $170 for a 1GB card, etc....

The same things the idiot advertising companies want to scam you with (IPOD, PSP, X-Box, etc), are the exact same items that young guys like to try to scam you with. They are obsolutely the highest fraud items around on the web, and I would be sort of careful buying one from someone who has exactly 6 posts on a messageboard, all of which are trying to sell these off topic items.

The Sony and X-Box gear is more common scambait because the Nintendo gear is aimed at 9 year olds, who don't have any money to buy things off the internet, and instead get them from their parents, who buy them at Wal-Mart and not on the internet.

I'd be especially worried since this EXACT member with 6 posts is selling an Ipod he knows very little about.. and then says he'd like a PSP as trade.

A PSP for trade? you mean like the one you are selling in this thread? Interesting.

On another board he claimed that his parents accidently bought him two of them.

http://mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38125

Yet at the same time he is trying to trade a different ipod for a PSP, and on that forum too.

Either we have rank stupidity, or a ponzi scam, or just a normal scam.

Either he is really stupid and is trying to trade for PSPs at the same time he is trying to get rid of them. Doubtful.

Or he is hoping to get someone to send his a PSP for his non-existant ipod, then he will sell said PSP to someone else, and blame the post office for the missing Ipod.

Or he will just take any money and or Psps sent to him and just vanish.

If anyone is interested, I have a fantastic area of swampla.., err, beachfront property in south florida that I am selling.  I can take paypal or a PSP in trade.  Or send me pictures of your gf.  I may take that as a partial down payment pending cash.   ;)

P.S. before I am contractually obligated to someone for some sand and dirt, i am j/k, obviously.

Good lord I got about 20 of those messages when I was trying to sell a Gateway M675 lappy on ebay a couple weeks ago.  Then just a day or 2 ago, one of them was wanting to know if the laptop had shipped to them yet :P.  Sorry for any legit Nigerians, but I will absolutely NOT deal with anybody there :P.

Don't deal with anyone in Africa unless it is South Africa or Egypt. Even then they better have good rep, and a scam-proof way to pay. The scammers are usually fairly easy to spot though, they send so many emails (which change in minor details constantly) that they (often as not) will claim 2, 3, or even 4 different names in the course of one email.

the only dealing I do with Nigeria is helping the political leaders smuggle millions from a private account, granted I have to dish out 10k as a sign of good faith I am sure that I will be kindly rewarded ;)

But of course, I have started responding to all my Nigerian scam emails, acting very excited and willing to do the deal, usually giving the name of General Mbutu and the address and phone number of a Nigerian government office. For some reason the deal never goes any further? They never seem to want to deal with me once they find out I am in Nigeria as well.  ;D

It would almost be worth getting a PO box just so I could start a collection of fake money orders and Bank Cheques.
