I'm wanting to recreate a Superman cabinet. I've searched high and low for plans or measurements online, but have not yet found any. In fact, I can't even figure out what the actual dimensions were. Does anyone have a Superman cab that's not a conversion?
EDIT:
Looks like the few original Superman cabs that are out there used the same cab as the Double Dragon cabinets. If anyone can get measurements of that one, that would work just as well.

This stuff might help a little:

Try looking for other Taito games that have the same cab.
These are Taito's games

Surely they used the same cab in another game...then you might have better luck finding the dimensions for that game.

what is it about that cab that you like so much?

@Hoagie
He is a superfan. Check the cab in his links
@timjpriebe
Are you going to modify your exsisting cab? Or build an authentic reproduction as a second cab? Cool website, but I couldn't find where it said when you built your cab?

Thanks for the links. I had run across those pics before, and it looked like two different cabinets, to me at least. The one on KLOV looks like the top is level right before the marquee, and the other one looks like it isn't. I will have to go through the other Taito games. I hadn't even thought of that. It will take awhile, though.

I'm a huge Superman fan, as Eric pointed out.

I'll be building an "authentic" repro, though it will be running Mame. Only games that will work with that controller configureation, though.
There is a guy selling a non-working Superman machine on Ebay right now for $50. It looks to be a converted job. I'm considering buying it and having him gut it and send me the buttons, marquee, bezel, cp overlay, etc. Do you guys think that would be worth $50? This will only be my second machine to work on, so I'm not sure whether I'd be paying too much or not.

A roller rink that I used to frequent has the cab, but I don't remember much about what it looked like. :(
It's a pretty fun game. My little bro and his friend actually beat it and got onto the high score once. Ah, fun times. :)

The dedicated ones use the same cabinet as Double Dragon, they are almost non-existant, it was mostly a conversion game.

I think you're right, paigeoliver. Does anyone have Double Dragon measurements?
-
Yeah, do a search. Hint, I had a conversation in the thread talking about a double dragon cabinet, I was talking about my double dragon II cabinet in it. It was in response to someone with a double dragon cabinet. That person might be able to give you specs.

Thanks, SirPoonga. I just PMed him.
