Title: Hero Machine
Post by: Jollyrob on April 24, 2005, 12:24:35 am
Sheesh it's been forever since i've posted or joined the chat or anything.

Anyway, there is nifty little flash program you may or may not have heard of called hero machine www.heromachine.com (http://www.heromachine.com), It allows you to create a "superhero" through simple click and color options, its' like a buffet table for comic geeks

It's typically used for easily creating a character portrait to accompany an online RPG character sheet, good variety of options...

Now, the big question, why the hell did i post this here, being flash, it innately creates all artwork as a vector, and if memory serves me, the site has info on exporting the character portrait to illustrator once done creating it

Thus, you have an instant character themed artwork creator, side panels, marquees, use your imagination

There are 2 versions, I only use the freeware 1.1 version cause i'm cheap and am not about to pay 20 dollars for this type of software, there is also 2.0 which like i said is 20 bucks, but also 40megs as opposed to the 4 megs of 1.1, so i imagine quite a few different options, just giving you fine people something to check out

Peace Out
Rob

I actually was pretty interested in buying it myself for a short time and actually came down to my computer with card in hand ready to order when a friend of mine stopped by and talked me out of it.  It is after all only 20 bucks.

I only realized it's potential for arcade art use a couple days ago while reading the forum, up until than i mostly used it to make pictures for my cousins to color in when they come by to visit and to play with when they're on my computer.
