I have some Happs, and I must say I do like these better. THey are slightly louder (might be the microswitches tho) but they are faster, thus very useful for shooters. On fighters, they seem slightly more responsive. This is just my opinion tho, others may say sanwas are better, happs are better. U get the idea. just my .02 worth
richardp I'll probably ordering some of these in blue soon, just gotta clear it with the finance department ;)
-
thanks sc1103.
i'll probly order a few of these as well richard...will pm my order later.
-
How thick of a CP can you use these with?
-
to be honest virtually any cp would work. as long as you have a 2" clearance from the top of the cp to the bottom. i have japanese candy cabs where they work fine. there is about 2 1/2" clearance on those items. if you want to send me a pic of your cp let me know. there are some happs buttons that are really long so those are the only ones where there are problems.
thanks

From the look of them I would say they will work on a 3/4" with no problem. If no one else can answer first then I will check it out when I get mine.
I am going to install a whole set on my candy cab (tired of having a 4-button cabinet when I am up to two different 6 button boards).

i completely agree everyone has their own feelings on which buttons are the best or work better. I tried these out and i think they are really cool. esp with the convex cover. Normally i hear that the fighting games like street fighter and capom people want the original sanwa because they only need a faster response. But with shooting games you want the springs to be strong because your pounding the button hundreds of times during play. so they need to last the repeat hits. These buttons are not as rigid as the happs ones and are aero dynamic like the sanwas. i hope that makes sense. I think i set the price where people can try some and see if they like it. if not they are out 4 bucks. anyways thanks for feedback.
Yeah people will like them. For the fighters, I still like them just because i can repeatedly pound them for certain moves (Ken's shinriuken (bad sp sorry) and then they quickly pop back up for combos, etc. Shooters, they work great, I played 1943 last night and could repeatedly just pound that button without any issues

How can these be used as replacements for japanese control panels if sanwa buttons are 30mm, and your's are 33mm? They won't fit?
Also do the microswitches click when you press them or silent like sanwa?
Thanks.
-
Here are pic of the 3 different buttons. The green is sanwa, pink is similar but not sanwa and the yellow is what I am selling. from the back you can see how they look. As for the ones I am selling yes the microswitch has a click sound to it. That is what I mean by the happs version. Hope this clears the air a bit. All buttons fit on the astro city cp fine, the sanwa ones are a bit snug so had to press a but harder otherwise they both work fine.
thanks for the questions.

thanks for trying to help. My policy is once you paid me, i mail out within 24 hrs. no later unless it is sunday or i am out of town. if you look on my feedback on ebay (user : PLM171) Most everyone is happy with the fast shipments. the neutral items were from my wife selling her stuff.... hate to say this but female buyers are weird.... but don't tell my wife lol!!!

I got mine today. Not bad, quality is not quite as high as the iL/Happ's buttons (thinner plastic), and they are a bit squeaky (this might very well go away once they are broken in). They are nice looking and have good action and I have no reservations at all about installing them on my machines. I'll be repopulating my Super Neo-29 with them for sure, and I ordered enough of them for a future project as well.
-
Are these horizontal or vertical? The pic above looks like verticals, but the Yahoo! ones look horiz?

Has anyone tried or does anyone know how thick of a control panel you can have with these buttons? 3/4" max?

Got mine today. I'm a little dissappointed in the colors of them they were much darker than I expected. Well 'cept the blue. I really like the way the blue came out. They feel really nice outside of a control panel but I unfortunately couldn't get it inside my current project box, which is slightlty over 3/4 inch(Without plexi) and I couldn't get the Nylon nut back on. The 3/4 inch control panel that I have(With Plexi) I had the same issue. So I took the plexi off and it fit on... I'm guessing it'll work just fine on my 5/8 control panel with plexi provided I get it small/thin enough.
I love the feel of them, they're slightly lighter than the other buttons I have, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.... I won't know till I get home and hit this box up with a chizle.
-
do these fit in standard 1 1/8" holes?

hey. i got mine today too. did u try to flip the nut and put it on backwards (smaller end contacting the wood)? if not, i think that would help.
for those who have the buttons already. do you know what size quick disconnects (sold by peale) will fit this? also, i'm planning to hack a db25 cable to wire up my CP, but i havent bought the cable yet. anyone knows what size these wires are and what size disconnects (again from peale) to get? thanks.

Whoo hoo.. Good thing I didn't start shaving this thing. Flipping the nutt worked perfectly. Now that it's stuck in the wood. I have to put the bottom of the control panel back on. Any chance of more colors coming along?

I got mine the other day but I got 4 white switches that have no "POP" to them. The Red and Black colored ones work great but the white ones are bad. Is there any reason I got 4 white switches and didnt get the red/black ones. I cant even use the white ones cause the feel is like mush. Other then that they are great though.

the connectors that i use are from Home depot. they are the pink ones for 22 gauge wiring. They seem to fit the best. do not get the blue ones they are hard to connect. the package for 100 connectors are about $7 or $8. Thanks
Which means you would need the red ones from me, but Richard you didn't specify the width of the blade on the switch. Anyone chime in with the size?
-
got my buttons and they look fine, but just so everyone knows, the yellows ones are more yellow-orange and the blue ones are close to purple.
I was trying to color match some stuff which doesnt work out now. No big deal though, I;ll use em for something else.
