Well, sad as this may be 5 of us (average age 30) have just booked our tickets for the midnight showing on the 19th May of Episode III. We also did this for Episode II and I actually flew over to America from the UK a day early for work back in 1999 just to see Episode I as it was released earlier there.

Hope it's worth the wait!

Millions of others do too... I saw the midnight showing of LOTR 2 & 3.

Wow, I didn't even know that was coming out soon.

Boy, that's a shame about all that expense for Episode I. You could almost bring a law suit against Lucas for releasing shuch a steaming pile of crap. Episode II sucked too, but not nearly so bad. Here's hoping that the third time's a charm.

after Episode I, i'll never worry about the first showing of a Star Wars film again.. thank god this is the last.
I'll go see it eventually cuz I pretty much have to... but I'm not expecting much.
Now LotR.. that was worth the midnight showings. I did that for all 3 :)

It's the last 5$ I'll be sending to Mr. Lucas (definitely a matinee showing for me). Iwould have picked up the DVD releases of the original trilogy, but I want the theatrical releases, which George keeps saying he will never release on DVD.
Han Shot First!
Doubt I'll even be there opening weekend, much less the first showing. Hayden Christensen makes Mark Hamil look like Lawrence Olivier.

I heard that the plot for the first movie was so bad that he didn't bother having one in the second. ;D
And Two Towers had its own problems. I found Evil Faramir almost as bad as Gummi-Berry Juice Yoda! >:(
Now I'm gonna go back to watching "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"... 8)

I can't imagine watching the midnight showing of anything, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I'll end up watching this one in the theater at some point, as my manager wants to go as a team event. Otherwise, I was going to wait for it to come out on DVD like I did with the third Lord of the Rings movie.

Found this handy dandy excuse note so you can call in to catch the Star Wars movie:
