I'm just wondering if the game Hydra's yoke is the same as the Star Wars one?
might be able to pick on eup.
thanks!

Similar, yes. The same, no. The Hydra yoke does left, right, and up, but not down. Parts wise it doesn't share any pieces with the SW yoke.

Not quite true, it does up down, the up down is just scaled differently. Same basic design, different handles, different gear for the Y Axis.
It is Road Blasters and that Off-Road jeep type game that has the ones that don't do up/down.

So, is it usable for Star Wars? Or should I just forget it?

It is quite usable. Just be aware that the Y axis is scaled differently.

I use it myself.
But I had to remove the springs. The springs are at rest in the center location. So it takes extra pressure to start moving up or down (or left/right). If they where already partially stretched, then it would be a lot smoother (smooth + resistence). The inital little up took extra force then to move it from up to more up.... (does this make sense?)
Then the scaling... Its a pain. Noticable. Still playable but noticable.

Lilwolf,
Can you post a pic of the inside of your yoke. Im currious if mine
is different.
Also, anyone with a starwars yoke, please post a pic. Id love to
see a comparison.
Finally, does anyone know of a place to get new gears for these?
Tia

a good place for definite internal pictures is the original game manual. i know the star wars yoke is pictured twice over with internal shots, unsure about hydra though, never looked. find the manuals on klov.
