Title: Mamewah lists???
Post by: Evilpenguin on April 16, 2005, 05:41:53 pm
Hi all

I am just wondering if anyone has there games listed by type that we could download so we don't have to go through and separate them.  So if some one has a best of list that would be great. Hopefully you know what I mean!

You can just use the catver.ini to sort by category; then select the categories you want to keep and add them to your game list.  Once done you can generate the new list and give it a name.  Screaming's Mamewah config makes it pretty easy to do stuff like this.

Short of that.... do a search for LISTGEN. Its a program made by buddabing that uses SQL type statements to build lists in just about any way you like.

Yeah, if category information is what you want, catver.ini is how you get it. You need to download the version for your version of MAME and tell MAMEWAH where it is in the emulator config, then re-generate your default list.

Do a search for ListGen.  If you want to do anything complex or fancy, it's definitely the tool to use.

If you want to just do basic stuff, like filter out all the games of a particular type or year for example, MAMEWAH can do that all by itself. Make a favorites list and play around with MAMEWAH's menus and you'll find the filter options.

If you want to do basic stuff but in a decent GUI that will let you use the mouse and pick and choose your games, check out MAMEWAH Config.
