I have the Happ controls Super Joysticks.
How are they supposed to be mounted?
Is the long side supposed to be parallel to the monitor or perpendicular?
I probably should have asked this before I drilled the first one.
Also, is there a side that needs to be facing towards the monitor and if so how can you tell?
By the way, if I screwed this up by drilling so that the long side would be parallel with the monitor would wood filler work to fill in the 4 1/4" x 5/8" deep holes?

It doesn't matter at all. You can face them which ever way you want (of the four primary directions).

is there any advantage to any of the mounting directions?

Thinking logically certainly helps when putting all the bits together ;)
You have four micro-switches, each of which corresponds to a direction that's inverse to the way the joystick is moved (i.e. Move the joystick left and the right hand side switch will be operated.)
So as long as you wire it up correctly it doesn't matter which way you mount it. Just thought I'd explain why in case you didn't realise.
Personally I mounted mine vertically as it gave me more room for button mounting as I was pushed for space.

yeah, after I made the post I started thinking about it. I was working on my first final version of my CP and been working on it since 11 PM and am obviously not thinking well.

No advantage at all, some games had them some way, some games the other way. I usually mount them vertical, but it doesn't really matter.
