OK..OK... I KNOW, I have seen all the examples from several web sites,
Yet, I really want to stuff a 36"-32" TV in my cab. But TEMPEST is one of my favorite games. What can I tell ya, I love the frantic pace of button smashing and the crazy feeling of spinning madly to protect the rim. OH YEA! I want to play right now.
Anyway, I can get a used 36" (on eBay) Toshiba with a BLACK TUBE for cheaper than a D9200 27".
Furthermore, I am building a two person cab and need the biggest display possible. A 36" would ROCK, a 27" would be OK, but I would lose the WOW! factor with a 27". It would be nice to be able to surf the net and maybe play modern PC games also and,( PS2, Xbox). Yet, I will sacrifice for the MAME cause and suck it up and use a27" D9200 if I have to. Its just that I can buy a refurb 36" High Def TV for the same price.
Finally, my question is this, Is a D9200 going to look any better than a high def TV, with vector games. The pics I have seen so far of vector games on a TV have the blacks looking really grey. And, I haven't seen any pics of a vector game on a D9200. And, can a D9200 display Windows?

Yes, a D9200 will work better than a TV for vector games, as you can go up to 640x480 (or in some cases, 800x600 if you lower the refresh). A TV at max has 300 vertical lines, so to get anything higher, you must interlace it and the NTSC conversion lowers quality.
Additionally, a D9200 can load Windows.

I have both a D9200 and a 33" TV. The quality difference between them is incredible. Tempest looks really bad on a horizontal TV screen.
