Last contest there were some people that felt left out since 50 contest entries filled up quickly - so keep an eye on this thread and be ready to enter! I'll post details on how to enter for the next contest in a few days. You might want to subscribe to this thread to be emailed when I post a reply. Stay tuned! ;D

However, I did win one of the auctions that emdkay did recently for misprints and offprints and I've got to say, even though he said they were off, the marquees that I got were awesome!

I have full confidence that his work is top notch and can't wait to see my latest creation!

Because you led people on with "free contest", and people discover that they have to make money for you first through completing offers. If you had said up front, "Hey, wouldn't it be great if there was one of these free offer sites for arcade parts? Well, I'm putting one together, come check back in a few days," you probably would have had all kinds of people coming to look. But the bait and switch left a poor taste in my mouth; I felt like a sucker when I got to the site, and the next site I checked out was http://www.mamemarquees.com .

I opened it up to find a set of headphones and a blank space where the Dgital Jukebox woud be, and a card saying "To get the rest of the package go to this URL and enter this code". I did, and immediately got a call back from dell asking when I could sit down to a face-to-face meeting with a Dell sales rep, who would be delivering the Digital Jukebox.

Well, I scheduled the meeting (since we're already Dell customers, it should be really short), but I half expect to get just another piece of the DJ and a card saying "To get the next piece, call this number to meet with a member of our server sales team." <sigh>

Well, if I quit now, at least I have a pair of RCA HP155 auto-retractable earbuds....

"Screwed over" is pretty harsh... I'd go with "disappointed". :) I agree that a change in topic may woo some back... and thank you, Emdkay, for making it right.

That said, I'm not sure how much interest there is for the trials and such, but for anyone already planning on a purchase, especially of hosting services, there are some potentially useful things in there... so, Emdkay, those two "truly free" marquees may do you better in the long run as people who had no intention of even looking (like me) see what's there.
