Title: Hacking dreamcast controller, what could cause problems?
Post by: menaz on November 20, 2002, 04:20:59 pm
I have built a few arcade sticks for the playstation with hacked controllers and never had a problem. I am about to hack my first dreamcast controller but I read on this site and a couple others something about people burning their Dreamcast controller ports when the hack isnt done properly. Is there anything in particular I should watch out for? Is it shorted wires that causes the system to fry or maybe just bad soldering? Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

well..nothing really happens as long as you dont work on your pad while the dreamcast on ON thats all.

If you work on the dreamcast while its on the chances are you will blow out the port instantly.ITs really nothing because happend to me once and and i fixed it.just the ribbon came off and i put and back in the controller port.just dont solder or test things while the dreamcast is on and you are 100% safe.
