Title: Wall of monitors
Post by: tommy on April 13, 2005, 11:14:33 pm
I wanted to use my arcade machine guts and many monitors to make one big screen out of 10 screens, i would have to find some screens that would look seamless though, so the monitors i have wouldnt work well.

How would i make them all do there part in displaying the image partially on each to form one.

Wells-Gardner makes a special "video wall" monitor and a special interface board to connect certain numbers of these monitors together into a video wall setup. Contact Wells-Gardner for more information.

Several other monitor manufacturers (like Kortek) also make a similar setup.

You probably won't like the prices, it will be cheaper just to buy a projector.

....And, you'll need 12 monitors to get the proper aspect ration (4:3)

Paige is right.  Just the controller required to carve up an image and put it out to the video wall will cost more than a very nice DLP projector.

Actually, no.  You need to use the same number of monitors in both directions, e.g. 4, 9, 16, 25... because the tubes themselves are the correct aspect ratio.
