Title: Uncentered video
Post by: Trimoor on April 13, 2005, 08:50:53 pm
I finally got my Linux drivers working with my Nintendo vertical monitor (I can't find the modle number right now, but I have the manual), but the picture is uncentered with a thin white stripe on the left.

I can't figure out how to adjust the vertical (horizontal) centering.  I assume it's the strange coil on the mainboard that needs a plastic too to adjust, but I have no such tool.  How do I fix this?

Has this monitor had a recent capkit installed? It appears to have the classic Nintendo Sanyo "foldover" indicating bad capacitors.

No idea.  How would I find which cap is bad?

If you don't know if it's had a capkit done, then chances are good that it hasn't had one. Install a capkit first then see how it looks. Remember this is a 24 year old monitor that's well known for failing capacitors.
