Title: FS: Mini Cab in DFW...
Post by: tmasman on April 13, 2005, 09:17:52 am
I hate to do it, but I've got bigger & better plans than this poor little cab could stand up to. (& my wife wan'ts me to start clearing out the garage... :()

I originally picked this up to turn it into a jukebox (would still be a great idea!), but I've decided to make a more descrete piece of furniture (something that will blend in with the current decor).

Anyhow, it's a Sega Monaco GP mini cab. I don't have any pics yet, but Here it is on KLOV (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=M&game_id=8733).

What it has:
-Working game boards!
-Working Gas Pedal
-Working LED marquee!
-Coin door (although different than the ones you see on most cabs)
-Metal base plate (not in pic on KLOV)

What it doesn' have:
- No CP or controls (Didn't have one when I got it)
- No Bezel
- No Monitor (The one part I'm keeping)
- No artwork (all black when I got it...)

Anyhow, I'd like to get $40 for it. If you don't like my price, make me an offer. I'm not in a big hurry to get rid of it, so I'll probably hold out a little bit before I let it go too cheap.

I'll attach pics when I get a chance, but it's very solid.

Dude!! Monaco GP is NOT in MAME.  It's some super rare non-processor thing. this has gotta be worth millions...billions even.  ::)

$10? $11?  you should be ashamed...would you offfer $10 for a star wars yoke? (okay wrong question to ask this crowd)

Tmas...$12.50 and I'll buy you  an extra value meal.   ;D

just messin with ya.

man, that was gonna be a cool jukebox too.  Nice cab, and can turn out to be a really nice mame if you wanted to go that route.  PaigeOliver's space firebird mini was the same shape of cab.

What part of the Metroplex are you located? I'm interested.

They sell for cheap. I always try to get them at the auctions, last one sold for $50 (playing blind), I just didn't want to go up to $75 on it.

I would like the boards, wiring and guts if someone would be willing to ship them to me, I have a Sega Turbo upright that I should be able to rig them up in.

I'm in South Arlington 76002. (Not far from Matlock & Sublett)

I just watched a complete one go for $230 on eBay... I tried to get a CP , but I couldn't find anybody getting rid of one... (I even got outbid by $0.50 on the only one I've seen on eBay...)

It would be worth it just to try & complete it & sell it if anyone wanted to try that route.

But it would definately be a nice little MAME machine also. I just don't have the heart to tear out all those boards... There's a lot of them & a lot of wiring. This game was all electronics (no roms, hence the lack of it in MAME)...

man, that was gonna be a cool jukebox too.

I've got even bigger plans for my jukebox... I'll start drawing it up some time soon.  It's gonna have to wait until I get the green light from the wife to start building it though... My "honey-do" list has gotten a little out of hand.

I would like the boards, wiring and guts if someone would be willing to ship them to me, I have a Sega Turbo upright that I should be able to rig them up in.

If the buyer (assuming I find one) doesn't have any interest in the boards, I'd be willing to pull the inards & ship them to you for the cost of shipping (& packaging... So many boards, I'd want to pack them well & I don't currently have the materials.).  I'd really hate to see the boards to to the curb, but I have a feeling there's too much to them for most novices to even want to mess with if they didn't want to keep them in that cab.

Who ever gets this, I have a extra control panel thats short the optic board.
(It has it but it's bad)

If anyone else has a extra boardset to sell let me know.

Later,

Thanks to Thomas for the cab! It's exactly what I was looking for.
I'm in the process of gutting it and the only things I'm keeping are the pedal and the coin door/mechs.
The game powers up fine. LED's work perfect. The sound works as well. You can hear the game start up, the fans blow, and the car accelerates when the pedal is pressed. There are a LOT of components in this cab. I'll take pics and update.

Dabone, Paige, I have a Mini Monaco GP as well.  Got it when Tmasman did.  I am keeping the cabinet/cp/pedal but am willing to sell the innards.  Plugged in, it lights up on top but I haven't tested it further.

NY_in_TX also has one that is working.  He will probably sell you the boards.
