Just to clarify.  I had a person email me thinking that act labs light guns are the same as positional guns.  Positional guns work similar to a mouse.  It moves the cursor as you aim (unlike act labs guns which rely on a snapshot of a specific area of the screen to determine whether or not a hit was scored and cannot move a crosshair as you aim).  In other words, positional guns are used in games like t2 ore revolution.  act labs guns are used in games like area 51 and lethal enforcer.  I'm sure someone else can explain it better than me but rest assured that these are 2 totally different types of light guns.

Quick Clarification - Positional Guns operate like joysticks.  The T2 Guns are mounted over a "giant joystick" which moves as you move the joystick (easy to picture this way).  The Crosshairs move with the joystick, but shoot only when you pull the trigger.  The Act-Labs Guns blank the screen and the optics find the position on the monitor of the shot.  The mouse then moves there and simulates the shot.  Positional Guns are useful for games including Revolution X, Operation Wolf, and Terminator 2, while the Act-Labs are useful for House of the Dead-style games.  Hopefully that clears up some questions.  THere are several topics in teh main forum if you need more detail on how the Act-Labs works/differs from the poistional guns.
