Title: Can you identify this game ? ? ?

This is a game I really liked at one time, but as of now I completely forget almost everything about the game.  If I remember correctly, you had to go around picking up green dollar bills etc... without getting busted by the cops.

When the game was over, it said CRIME DOES NOT PAY or something similar.

Any idea of what this game is???

Is it NARC?

Left right scroller - you busted drug dealers and took their money...

No, it was a much earlier game than NARC.  I was going to put that in my original post, that it wasn't NARC, as that it what i thought everyone would take a guess at first.

That sounds like Lock 'N' Chase.  It was basically a rip-off of Pacman.

How about the C64 game Rags to Riches. I wonder if there was an arcade version...?

I beleive that is Theif from Pacific Novelty that you are refering too.  It has been in Mame for quite a while.  I really wanted this one and play it quite frequently.  Make sure you get the audio for it to from www.mame.net.  Trully a GREAT game.  UN Squadron also from Pacific Novelty is very similar, but allows you to shoot at the baddies.

There is  BagMan and Money Money, but have the same concept but you dont pick up green dollars, rather bags of money.

I am 100% certain, beyond a shaddow of a doubt, it was Thief.  I played it last night, and it said "Crime Doesnt Pay" after the game was over.
