Hey everyone,
I am still planning away and have now designed several panels to choose from!
I had a look at http://www.slikstik.com to see what they were making and came across these HAPP top fire 8 way super joysticks...
Question is, is there any games that actually used to use these??!!

Depends what you are asking.
No games actually used the Happ Top Fire Super, AFAIK.
Games that used/needed a Top Fire Stick and could be played with a Happ Top Fire Super:
Battlezone
Tron
Discs of Tron (needs thumb button)
Assault (needs thumb button or two top fires)
Vindicators
Sarge
Games that used a Top Fire Stick but didn't really need one
Xenophobe
Zaxxon
Choplifter (some versions)
Gorf
(not an all-inclusive list)
Alternatives to the Happ Supers -
Several people have hacked a PC Joystick (especially a Raider Pro) to a Happ base (includes at least one thumb switch). http://www.oscarcontrols.com/projects/triggerstick.shtml
www.groovygamegear.com sells a top-fire version of the Prodigy joystick.
1Up (www.spincade.com) sells a modified comp or 49-way stick with Tron handles.
RayB used to sell modifed ball-top sticks with a top-fire mechanism, but he sold out.

I got a pair out of a Taito Silkworm. I figure I'll use them for things like Galaga...for no real reason. ;D

Actually, you just need a single-button stick plus a regular stick to play Assault. The original game had dual trigger sticks, but both triggers did the same thing (so you only need one button). Fun game, btw.

Ninja gainden in teh arcades had a top fire joystick for some reason, when another button would of worked better IMO

Yes, as Hoagie mentiond, I've only ever seen that joystick on Ninja Gai-Den, Silkworm, and I think I might have seen it on a puzzle game.
Mostly though, that joystick was meant for those crane toy games.

Actually, Happ has a different joystick that most of the crane games used.

I've seen one use on Block Out as well as the previously mentioned games.
