Title: Does ADVMame play more ROMS than DMAME?

Does the latest version of ADVMame play more ROMS than DMAME???? (at least compatibility-wise)

I have the  latest and greatest ROMS obtained through tombstone, but only about 50% of them play in DMAME right now.  

Seems the games i'm most interested in, (Ms-Pacman, Pacman, donkey kong, frogger, etc...) are the ones that don't work.  Seems stupid as these are the oldest, most simple games too.

If by DMAME you mean DOS MAME, I can use all of these in DOS... I use an older MAME version for these old classics, though, so they can use lower resolutions that became unsupported when 8-bit color was dropped.
