Looking to buy my T-Molding for my cab but what seemed like a simple questions is now confusing me. I am using 3/4 MDF and laminating one side, so do I want to just buy the 3/4 t-molding or 7/8 to account for the laminate but it would only be on one side. Will 3/4 still cover enough of the laminate or will it fit the 3/4 MDF perfect with no extra overhang???
-
I ordered samples from T-Molding.com that came very quickly. You can get those and take a scrap piece of 3/4" MDF and test it out.
I would think that your laminate is only a few millimeters thick so the 3/4" t-molding may be your choice. But I would test it and see.

There are already several threads on T-molding and the many distributors who carry it. Tmolding.com isnt bac though.

I have found a place with a GREAT selection of t-moldings.
http://208.245.181.35/cgi-bin/worderc?confc=B2C
They are the supplier to t-molding.com but have a much larger selection that t-molding and they have a color palette so you can see the color before you buy. Just thought I'd pass it along to those interested...

VERY nice selection!

Funny, I was just looking at this last night for 1/2" blue t-molding. Is that a real place?
I would never order from a site that I have to access through it's IP address. I also looked at the checkout process... am I wrong or are they having you send your credit card in clear text (no https)?
I sent an email last night to get some answers. Are you able to order less than a 250' coil? The site will let you put in the order, but there is a note: "Sold in 250' coils). I'm assuming that is a development site, how did you find it Taborious? I would feel better knowing you were somehow associated with them.

It appears that the site is supposed to be accessed from here:

Im wonderring if any companies will ship free T-molding samples to Canada. Most places are US-based so I would have to pay shipping for a free sample.

You're in luck. These guys appear to have offices in Toronto.

I just called an order in, it went smooth and easy.
There's nothing like ordering the minimum 250 foot roll of 1/2" T-Molding for a MINI cab. I guess I'll be selling 1/2" blue T-Molding for a while...

Wienerdog, are you SURE you had to order a minimum?? Their website form is set up to allow you to enter in quantities by the FOOT.

As previously mentioned, it depends on the thickness of the lamintae. I use Wilson Art brand. The have basically two thicknesses. Standart Grade which is about 1/16 (.0625) and Vertical Grade which is about 3/64 (.045). If I were you I'd try and fing 13/16" T-Molding and then trim it after it's installed. I always use a razor blade. I tried one of the hand held trimmers but it scratches and digs at the T-Molding.

Yes, and I really don't think anyone should order off that site. That is very odd to be running the site without a domain name... I actually hope they don't put my credit card in their computers because I'm thinking it won't be protected very well. Strike one is the IP web address, strike two is a message stating a 250 foot minimum but the site allows you to enter in smaller amounts, strike three is that the eCommerce site doesn't appear to be secured. Holy smokes, I'm starting to get worried about them again...
I sent an email asking about the minimum that is listed. I got a voice mail stating that you have to order in 250 foot coils. When I called to put in my order, I confirmed it again.
Oldsage,
I spent .37 per foot from T-Molding and could only choose black or white. I spent .17 per foot from this place and was able to get the blue I needed. Overall I paid more because of the minimum, but hopefully I'll be able to sell that to BYOACers by the foot until it is gone. The only thing going against me is that it is 1/2" which is perfect for a mini cab, but never used for a full size cab.
It was safe for you to assume that a 250 foot roll is $42.50 and not $0.17. The site is just really bad.

Oh don't worry, I didn't order through that form but I did call an order in. It just scares me because if their site is that bad, I doubt they have appropriate controls on their internal systems (like the database that my credit card number probably sits in...). I should have grabbed a virtual account number for this order, my mistake.
-
If they are that bass-ackwards, chances are their sales database isn't even hooked to the net...
-
I didn't put as much though into the order process as everyone else did. However I was using a prepaid card so even if its bogus I could only loss a couple of bucks. Wouldn't be thrilled about it but wouldn't loss any sleep either as if I had used a CC or ATM card. I order 40 feet and Friday and have not heard or gotten an email stating I cant do that but I might not have gotten it yet. If I cant get it through them I just want to know who they sell the 13/16 blue to and then order it from there.
Judging from the site it's not a very professional site they may just have someone running/designing that doesnt know how to do it right. Ill let you know what I hear about my order...
-
If they sell it in 250' minimums, then their primary customer base is other companies, not the lowly consumer. So... that's why they have a cruddy site.
-
I just got the call saying I cant buy it by the foot. I asked what reseller they sell that particular model to and she said she didn't know and didnt want to find out either.
-
I've purchased from Outwater before (via phone). They are a huge supplier of various plastic moldings and such - T-molding is just a small part of their product line.
Speaking of 250' minimums, anyone need 200' of red 5/8" T-molding? :-)

Outwater does?? I only saw Jersey and Phoenix.
I heard elsewhere that they are the suppliers to t-molding.com (good to know since apparantly the t-molding from t-molding.com is superior to that of happs).

Says Toronto, top of the page under their logo.

As my little league coach used to say "good eye, good eye"
So when is somebody in Toronto going to pick up a roll and start selling it. I assume there would be a market.
-
I might. It would have to be a common color though. Like black.

3/4" black, smooth.
Shouldn't have a problem unloading that.
-
The problem with black is everyone is selling black. it's the blue and light blue, red and other colors that kill people becasue they have to buy a 250 foot roll of it. Ive been looking for the light blue or blue in 13/16 and no one but them carry it. if I want it it's 250 feet or nothing so im thinking of just going with black which sucks to compromise but its a big price difference...

Right if you run an nslookup on the ip given 208.245.181.35 you'll see that it's sc.outwater.com, so it's the same site. Anyway I asked them last week about a t-molding recommendation for my cabinet and I sent them a sample picture of the color I wanted the t-molding to look like.Today I came home to find a sample selection in my mail box of T-moldings that were about the color of the sample picture I emailed them. That F*cking rocks in my book. I didn't even ask for samples, just a recommendation.

Did they planted you? Otherwise, i personally won't mind an extra 200 ft, considering buying exactly the amount i need from t-molding.com would cost about the same...
I guess I'll be calling them soon...
