Title: For those building a sit-down cabinet...

Has anybody ever seen this?

Since most folks here are "DIYs" anyway, you could use that $300 + shipping and order a $50 racing seat from Summit, then spend the remaining money building an enclosed "F-1" style cockpit out of fiberglass.

Not worth it if you ask me.

I really got excited (as this is exactly what I've been looking for lately), but then i saw the price...
Could be nice for someone with a little bigger budget though...

man, spend the 300 on an authentic racing seat from happs with speakers in it...that might be worth it.  and it comes with the...thing.  you know, the thing to change the seat position.  but only forewards and reverse.

I thought the price was a bit high myself, but just thought I'd mention it for those out there with money to burn.   :)

I tried one of those out at Fry's electronics.. The seat is pretty comfortable, and the ergonomics are good, but unfortunately, the pole holding the steering wheel in place was a bit too floppy for my taste.  Of course, it had been on display for a while and had probably seen its share of abuse.

I'd rather get that "gamer chair" with the built in rumble.

I am very serious.  Please, come and get it, I need the space!

Here's a post with some pics.

The one behind the Off-Road cab is the one that goes, after I steal a few parts out of it.  It'll still be a perfectly MAMEable cab with seat.

I'm in Northern CA.

what would come with it?

Depends on how soon somebody shows up for it, and whether they want it to MAME, or as an Afterburner project.

I'm restoring the one you see in the side view- the one behind the Off-Road is the parts donor.  It plays blind- somebody cracked the neckboard on the monitor, it might work if that was fixed.  Cabinet motion is not working.

I'm going to swap a few of the better looking trim pieces for sure.  If somebody wants an Afterburner project, I'll leave it at that- but if it's going to be MAMEd, I'd want to pull all of the motors, controls and pcbs.  I have a chronic shortage of time, though.  I'd pull the PCBs and controls for sure, the rest only if I get 'round to it before somebody hauls it off.

How long is it?  Will it fit in the bed of a pickup?

A full sized pickup, yes.  It's big, and heavy.
