Title: Mortal Kombat Jakks TV Game
Post by: Bloinkxp on April 05, 2005, 02:12:16 pm
Howdy,
I saw this at Kmart over the weekend.

Amos.Shop.Com Link (http://amos.shop.com/amos/cc/main/ccn_search/st/Jakks%20Mortal%20Kombat/sy/productsx/ccsyn/260/prd/18442056/ccsid/360082779-10937/adtg/04040523)

Long link...I know.

It supports two users and looks highly "hackable".

It's amazing how quickly those 5 in 1 units are evolving. I wonder how long it will be before one appears that can run all the MAME games.

I notice that the joystick on the Ms Pac unit appears to be 4/8 way switchable!

I think those units are really cool but I do question whether it's a good idea to hack them.

Their charm is mainly their funky appearance plus the fact they are a compact all in one design.

If you hack them into arcade controls, add a PSU etc you're going to end up with something a lot bulkier and more expensive. Personally I'd prefer to go the extra mile and hack an old PC to run MAME on a TV.
