Title: super pac man power supply question
Post by: redfivexw on April 05, 2005, 12:55:41 am
i have an original super pacman arcade (the one with the goofy big pac man on the side), i believe the power supply is dead.  I have a switching power supply here, new in the box.  does anyone know if and how i install this new power supply, or will it not work?  thanks for any info

It's not too hard.

What I did for mine is:

Gently yank  the +5v, +12v and ground from the harness to the power board. Crimp together the +5v to a spade (U shaped). Do the same for Ground and +12v.

UNPLUG THE HARNESS FROM THE GAME
  :)

Connect the spades to the switcher in the right spots. Splice into the light fixture for AC power, run it to the switcher.

While the edge connector is off of the game board, test the harness for the correct voltages. Once you are sure you have ~+5v, give it a shot!

Turn everything off, plug in the PCB and fire it up!

Worked for me. Not sure if you have the schematic. Here is a link:
