Title: Mame Controls
Post by: MarkTheBozo on November 17, 2002, 12:08:22 am
Hey, I was wondering why player one controls are the same as player two controls. (ex. On pacman, player one and player twos controls for going down is the down arrow.) I would like to make the controls be different so i can rig up control panels when i finally get the Mame cabinet.

cause Pacman in the real arcade is only one Joystick for Player 1 and 2.  I have not seen any Pacman/Ms.Pacman that has 2 Joysticks.

Yeah neither have I. The only thing that I see 2 of on the cab is the player buttons and I'm pretty sure the coin slots. Thanx.

An exception would be cocktail cabs, which use separate controls for P1 & P2.

Perhaps a mod to the MAME source could allow the control swapping, but not flip the screen for upright cabs?  I'm not sure, but I think this topic has been discussed before on these boards.
