Title: Video garbled in DOSCab Jukebox program
Post by: liche on November 15, 2002, 11:25:51 pm
I just tried to run DOSCab Jukebox program and am having trouble getting the video to display properly.

I'm currently running "pure" DOS and using a Wells Gardner SVGA Monitor (1024x768 interlaced) and according to the DOSCab documentation, it should run under this video mode.

There is an entry for REFRESH RATE in the jukebox.ini file, but that doesn't seem to do anything?

Am i doing something wrong, or is the U3100 not a compatible monitor.

Thanks

The refresh raes you're trying are probably too high for that monitor.
Try setting the following to the [Settings] section of JUKEBOX.INI:

RefreshRate = 0

This will keep DOSCab Jukebox from trying to set a refresh rate.  Right now it's trying to force the rate to 72hz which fails with your monitor.

Thanks.  I'll give it a shot.  I did try changing that setting to 60 Hz, but didn't do anything.

60 Hz is too high for an interlaced mode.

Tried setting refresh rate to zero, but still didn't help.  Probably my video card.  Anyways, I'm getting a Trident T64 Blade video card this week, so that should hopefully work.
