I picked up a couple of never used mini cabs recently.

When i saw the title i really hoped you're building a mini replica of a simpson cab, but that's nice too...
Is it mame, or dedicated?
BTW, the t-molding is a bit too bold to my taste... Did you add it, or was it there allready?

Excellent Smithers.
-
Very nice.

That is great! Even has a coin door!

Nice Wade, my soon to be 3-year old would be all over that thing. ;D
So have you actually got a Simp's board in there or is it Mame powered?
Beautiful gameroom BTW, I'd love to see more pic's of that mini Six-mill machine..didn't know it existed.

I HAVE to build a mini for my daughter soon :) They're just too cool! Of course, need to finish my main cab, first.
Looks GREAT! And I'm sure the Simpson's game is a big hit with kids AND adults! :)

Thanks for the comments!
It is Mame-powered. I built this game for about $30, the cost of the Keywiz eco plus a couple packages of screws. ;) I have another cabinet just like it, which I may install a Jamma board into just to sell. But for this, I wanted to keep it cheap. It's not really something I would ever play, I just thought the kids would like it, so I was doing it on the cheap. ;)
I agree, the gold molding is too much, it (and the coin doors) were pre-installed on both of the mini cabs I got in a haul-off. I want to change it to black molding, but it hasn't exactly been a priority (again, doing it on the cheap). Also, I'm tentatively planning to install full sideart, and to trim that I will need to have the molding off. So I will probably switch to black at that time.
Here is a link to my webpage which has (mostly outdated) pictures of my gameroom, and a couple of brief shots of the Six-Mil machine: http://webpages.charter.net/wadelanham/arcade/
It is not a mini though! (?) I have a lot more pictures of that pin if you'd like me to email them. It actually left my gameroom just a week ago (friend sold it).
Thanks for the comments guys! So far the mini is a hit, we'll see how it holds up after a few more gatherings. I don't know if it was played more because it was "kid size" or just because it was a new game.

Hmm...coulda sworn I read that was a 'mini' on your site...must've had some mdf in my eyes.
Would love to see some pics anyway, love that Vpin table...and the tv series.
Nice booths BTW. I'm working on one of those metal-leg cocktail's right now.

<Homer voice> "Oooh! Mini Cabinet!" </Homer voice>
I cannot believe that you got that done for $30. Nicely done! I have a soft spot for Mini's, as my MAME cabinet is a mini Pac-Man.
Very Cool!

Nice games room Wade ;)

I have more pics of the 6MDM... if you send me a PM I can email some to you.

I did some more work on this because it is going up for sale this weekend at the York pinball show. It looks so neat that I almost want to keep it! ;) But the truth is I want to get some new games so I have several games up for sale. I can't keep them all, and I'm limiting myself to one room of games at this point.

More.

Last one!

Wouldnt it be illegal to sell this game with the rom in it? ;)
That is a very nice looking machine. im very impressed. great job.

Thanks. :) It is the original MAME-powered one. I still have the other cabinet in my garage, haven't installed anything in it yet. This one is on its way to the York pinball show right now. I'm looking forward to seeing what it sells for (if, at all!) If it doesn't sell for much, then I may never install anything in the other cabinet.
Since I have the other Mini cabinet still, I really don't want them to bring this game back. I'd much rather have the cash. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If there are many small children there, then I'm sure it will get played a lot, and likewise will probably sell easily. It looks practically brand new, so I don't think it will be a problem to sell it, really.
