Hi,
(not sure this is the right forum).
I am almost done with building my cocktail Cabinet. The only thing missing are the Control boxes. I just can't seem to be able to design the template to use for the holes.
I want to design the CPs and be able to print them to use as cutting templates
I've played around with a couple of tools to try and do my layout but the truth is I suck at this kind of stuff. I Did not have much luck using this.

Was hoping some one could give me hand with this. Below are some details
The size of the Control Panel will be 9 in x 6 in
Single Joystick
6 Buttons
2 (admin buttons) player 1 and player 2
Roughly this layout
P P
B B B
J
B B B
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hey lokki, I believe I've still got your e-address from your cut list...good to see you getting to the end of this :)
Are you looking for like, just circles for the controls as a placeholder, or what? I'm fairly positive I could whip something up quick-like in Photoshop for ya.

Thanks,
Yes that is what I am looking for. A template for where to drill the holes.
It has been more difficult that I imagined to get the time to work on the cocktail cabinet (been working on it off and on for the past 3 months). But I have also been working on restoring a Pinball (Stern Dracula) so the little time is split between both projects)
Usually only been spending one or two hours a week on it (if at all). But now it looks like I am finally getting close to the finish line. All that I'm missing is the CPs and the monitor for the cocktail. I even have the computer all configured. (will have to take the mobo from the case and figure out how to place it on the cab).
Thanks

I'll see if I can find my joystick template and whip something up today-ish for you. You'll have to tell me if the underside of the CP won't handle the spacing, though. I had that problem - after screwing the rings onto the buttons, when I got down to the bottom, they started hitting each other and I had to fiddle for quite a bunch to get them all snuggish. I believe I fixed it with my layout template, but I recommend drilling a test panel, and 9x6 is pretty easy to replace.
I'll .jpeg it for you and send it when I'm done, should be today or tomorrow.

Hey lokki, I was doing just a simple whip-up on that designer-app link you posted. It almost appears as if you don't have enough space for three buttons wide!

That is the problem I had with that program.
I measured the area of my upright cabinet and it is under 8 in.
only 4 inches for the buttons. But using that program it will not fit.

Alright. I'll give it a go in Photoshop then. I'll also measure mine, although mine are staggered, that DOES look a little small, now that I think about it. Cripes, the buttons fit in a hole a touch over an inch...they've GOT to be 4 inches or less wide!

Thanks drew.
My printer at home is not working for some reason. Will have to wait until monday and print at work.
Thanks again just what I needed

No problem at all.
I'm at my father-in-law's for the week, so I may send you the Photoshop version later on tonight or tomorrow.
The hardest part was coloring them ;D
