I'm trying to figure out if Chad is going to slap you because he's frustrated that you got him with that, or if he's one of those "you made people laugh at me, now I'm gonna physically take out my mental pain on you" kinda folks.
Meh, just be thankful you didn't head to his house after voting for Kerry ;D

I hope that's a joke... I've always been a lurker, but my primary hobby is
restoring old vid cabs and Tron is a GREAT one worth a LOT of effort.
Monitors are very easy to troubleshoot and the problem may not have even
been in the monitor but on the video section of the game PCB.

This was my biggest fish so far from alt.mame:
Why would you torch a classic game because of something as basic as
monitor troubleshooting problems? Can totally understand the
frustration, but man, that's pretty lame. You can buy a brand new
monitor for $180.

Yeah, it was a good one. Took me a few minutes because I didn't know it is April 1. I don't mind being burned, that's not slappable... that someone would even joke about torching a Tron, the thought of burning a Tron cab is slappable.
Either way, GAPAS is cool. I never post but I do read all of the emails.

Yeah the bad news is that may be a real Tron burn. The pic is old hat, I nicked it off the net somewhere. Might be photoshop, might be an entire cabient, might be just one side panel, I dunno.

My guess is Photoshop. After a second viewing I noticed the flame way low on the left side. It's low enough that the grass shoulf be burning too, or a least singed.
In any case I'll sleep better tonight if I believe it's a fake pic. :)

that and if you look closely the paint is intact around the flames. If that sucker was really burning the paint would be flaking off.

It's a real picture.
I don't recall the details, but that picture came from a big "burn off" of cabs that some guy did a few years ago. There were other cab casualties (and he posted lots of photos!)
