First of all let me say that this is my first PC as I've been using Apple computers for the last twenty years. Perhaps that has a lot to do with the trouble I'm experiencing?
:)
So... I took delivery of a brand new Dell Dimension 4700 today & spent quite a bit of time loading all my ROMs into the ROM folder of the Windows command line version (Pentium Pro optimized) of MAME 0.95. Next I attempt to open mamewah_v161 but receive the message:
"Required system files are not present - please download & install "system.zip" from the MAMEWAH download page".
So I head over there & download the "system.zip" file to my desktop & extract it. According to the MAMEWAH site I should run the "setup.bat" file which must be the item named "setup" (an MS-DOS Batch File) in my folder. So I double click that & then receive five error windows I need to "ok" through, each stating "Installation failed". At the end of that I receive one last message which states:
LoadLibrary("paintx.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.
Does anybody know how I can solve this problem so Mamewah will open?

You say you double-clicked the zip file; however, did you extract it to a folder, i.e. C:\mamewah system files, then run the setup.bat? I did it how you did initially and it will alway sfail, so try extracting to a folder first

Phew! That solved my problem.
Did I mention I never used a PC before? Oh, I did? :D
