Title: Flip-top control panel-options other than hinges?
Post by: stevodevo on March 30, 2005, 12:41:27 pm
I have a flip top control panel - you know where the top flips up so I can change my j-stiks from 4 way to 8 way? :)

Anyhow, does anyone have an idea for a flip up control panel other than hinges?  My cousin has a 50's truck where the hood is on hydraulics and opens via remote.  Ok that might be a bit much for a control panel but what other possibilities are there?

Thanks!

I have a metal panel that sits on 4 studs.  I hand tighten bolts to hold it down.

There's a kind of hinge (the name escapes me) that is "c" shaped, and mounts on the edge of a surface, and works by allowing a grove in the middle of the "c" to slide along a pin mounted on the inside of whatever box or object you're working with.

If ......if that makes sense.
