This is a tough one. We are talking about an arcade game from the early to mid 90's. It is a Capcom or Capcom clone, four player team based fight/sidescroller from the Final Fight mold. What I do remember about it is that one of the characters you play as (a big beefy dude) can throw an opponent against the wall and they hit it go flat up against the wall and slide down. There were these larger enemies in the game that were dressed like cowboys. You could also pick up things and use them as weapons. I also remember that in one of the between map cutscenes you travelled to some kind of 'skull island' on what may or may not have been jetskis. I have checked every Capcom fighter in Mame, and while some were quite similar, I didn't find the right one. I also did a manufacturer based search on KLOV and didn't see it there either.
Any help would be appriciated, I am going crazy trying to remember the name of this game!!

Yes...there is a big buff dude in this game and you can slam people around and they would be in pain.There is no jet ski though.
Its really not 4 players.
Unless you are looking for captain comando.

well.... punisher uses skull as the logo....
and another one I can think of is final fight....
(final fight has a beefy guy you can choose...)
but I don't think they're 4 players...
are you sure they're 4 players ?? cos then,
there's some way to search mame.dk for 4 player
games.... (not completely accurate, but good enough...)
and strip down to Capcom games,... or side-scroll fighting games.... that might help narrow down the search....

Nope, definitely not Cads/Dinos....there was no jetski in the actual gameplay, just a cutscene....its not Punisher, and not Final Fight. It won't be that easy. I am sure it was a four player game. I will try to do a four player search and see what I come up with. I am pretty sure the charcters were two guys and two chicks. It was like TMNT in the way that depending on what joystick you chose, that was the character you get (pretty sure of that fact).

I have scanned through almost all Capcom games on KLOV and I didn't see it. Some of the fighters are very similar in design and look, but, not the right game. Maybe it is not even Capcom, did any other manufacturer copy Capcoms look on their classic early 90's fighters?? I am starting to think there was a gas leak at the arcade I played this game in, because I can't remember much about the game!
All the suggestions so far have been very close, but no dice. I appreciate the help so far folks but as I said, we haven't hit the nail on the head yet. If any one else wants to take a shot, please feel free!! ;D
I am going to figure this out sooner or later. The mystery continues.....

I remember playing that game too. I was young about 8 - 10 years old when I played it. If you live anywhere near San Jose in CA you could go there and check it out. Oh I mean you could go to the Golf Land over there and check it out. With any luck they will still have it. Thanx.

Good guess but no SNAAAKE. Alien vs. Predator is a 2 player game for one where the one is talking about is 4 players and also I don't think there are any Cowboys in Alien vs. Predator. Thanx.

i knew he was looking for 4 players game but hey..maybe he dont remember.
Only reasonable conclusion is cadillacs and dinosaurs.

You guys are really going to the wall!! I know for sure it isn't Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, but that game is SOOOOO close to what this mystery game is, in fact, playing that game is what reminded me about this mystery game....and also led me to believe that it was a capcom game because of the similarities. The cowboy clue may be a bit misleading, the guy in the game I am referring to is dressed in a cowboy look, ie, hat and boots but thats about it. He is one of those repeating baddies that you end up beating up quite often. There is no western theme to the game levels whatsoever. It takes place in mostly urban environments. I am also not 100% sure it was a 4 player game but it had to be at least 3, because I know I played it with at least two other friends.
I checked Sunset Riders, Dungeons & Dragons, Vendetta, and Warriors of Fate and while some were similar, no dice.
Oh...'Hellfromabove', I am in Toronto, Canada so getting out to Golf Land in San Jose, while it sounds like a nice vacation, is a bit of a trek from here!! But hey, I will buy you a beer if you check it out for me!! Hehehe...hearing someone else who remembers this game makes me realize I may not be completely insane.

One of the TMNT games? You can totally knock guys up against walls and I KNOW you ride some sort of jetski hoverboard things here and there. And some sort of skull island sounds right up the turtles' alley.

the goatfeet dude is misleading us here :-\(I do know how he feel,I had something similer goin on) because there isnt many capcom(cps1) games that are not emulated.

No, its not TMNT, I would have remembered if it were, all the characters were human. I doubt it is emulated or I am sure I would have found it by now just by playing mame. :'(
I'm telling ya Snaaake, its making me crazy...and probably those of you who have tried to help too. I'm not trying to mislead you, just certain details are a little foggy, it has been a long time since I saw this game. I think it is a Capcom game, not 100% certain, but like I was saying, since playing Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, I realized that game was way too similar to be coincidental, unless someone stole major ideas from capcom.
Wescotte, I wish I had your kinda spare time too, if you wanna have a mame-o-thon and try to find it, that would be great, I don't think it is emulated but I could be wrong.
Whatever this game was, it was a cool game. I could get my fix by playing other games we have all come up with that are similar, but you know how it is when you CAN'T THINK OF SOMETHING!! AHHHHhhhh!!! :D

allright i got another one thats killing me since i found out about mame..
Its similer to final fighter.cant run i think on this game.
The game starts with a cut scene where a scary dude with a motorcycle takes a girl then leaves.Then the game starts in a bar.I think there are 3 heros and you start the game and break chairs and tables(you can also powerbomb bad people on the table but possiblities are very shaky).thre is also a black dude(one of the heros)....
Anyone has any clue.I heardly remember because i was like 7 when i even saw it..tried to play all the time but couldnt reach the damn panel so used a small chair.i was from the 90's(92.....or 93).
ANYONE HAS ANY CLUE :-[ :-\ ??? ::)?

It looked exactly like final fight.
People were very big and all 3 heros looked like Guy from final fight.I am probley misleading but I can't rememeber :-\.

Ok, I remembered another fact about the mystery game, the repeated bad guys I was talking about that wore the cowboys hats, they were taller than the other bad guys and more muscular, but when they came out at you they had their arms held out in front of them. A fairly insignificant fact but, at this point.....anything that might help....

the wooden ship would have to be "HOOK"
and subway scene would be "64 street"

I don't remember any ship or subway in the game, it was mostly outdoor environments as I recall. I checked out HOOK and 64 Street since Snaaake mentioned them but those weren't it. Nice try though....If there were titles other than Snaaake mentioned lemme know!!
