Title: My almost complete MAME cab...
Post by: Animeka on November 13, 2002, 11:53:38 am
Here's a preview :)

www.animeka.net/arcade/GoldenAxe.jpg

it's not finished yet, missing CP, plexiglass and real golden axe marquee...

In front of it is the control panel that I made last spring... Decided to move on to bigger things :)

Looks great, nice and clean.

It was funny, I was looking at the CP that you built, then looking at the cab, and saying to my self,

"Self, this dude's gotta be a gorilla! Look at the size of that panel for the cab!" :P

Nice work!

Thanks :) I did find one problem with that though, on my control panel, the vinyl is "sticking" to the plexiglass in some places, making sort of a "ring" on the art itself, like a water stain or something. This happens everywhere there's a button/joystick, the carriage bolts are pressing hard on the plexiglass, causing this effect. I wonder if spraying a coat of sealant or something on it would have prevented that...

It's a conversion from an old arkanoid machine (www.animeka.net/arcade/ga00.jpg) it's not as big as it looks, the cabinet is about 5'11"

The control panel is definitely NOT what will end up on the cab ;) I'm having metal control panels cut and folded, that are identical to the original panel (minus the artwork).

Actually it looks like arkanoid was a conversion put into a capcom bowling cabinet:)

Are the arkanoid parts working?  Going to sell them?  I might be interested....
