Well, I must admit, I was 100% NOT going to buy a PSP on March 21st. I promised myself to save the dough for other things....
.... Then I saw one. 4 days later my PSP is currently recharging after playing many hours of Wipeout Pure while I surf the web. I must say I'm thoroughly impressed.
Anyone else jump on the PSP bandwagon?

Too rich for my blood. I'll wait until it gets at most down to $150 (it was released for $180 in Japan -- we're getting screwed). By then, though, the new Gameboy may be out and that could affect my decision. I have a great deal of fondness for many of Nintendo's franchises. In terms of which system I'd rather own right now, however, between the DS and the PSP.....it's not even a decision. Nintendo's in a tight spot right now. They need something better than the DS, and when they release it there will be a lot of betrayed DS owners.

WOW WOW WOW WOW....I can't get over how amazing the PSP is.
I just downloaded video (of course some porn); photos; mp3 etc. to try this thing out.
Absolutely amazing. Seriously...this is one of the first gadgets in a while to truly amaze me....it's truly perfect. Definitely the best portable to date (despite the unique touch screen of the DS).
Oh yeah...it also has an ad hoc psp to psp network that can sniff out other Psp'ers to do head to head wireless gaming. I can't wait to try it out with someone soon!
This is a no brainer guys....you have to pick this thing up!!!
;D
MameMaster!
PS- I don't work for Sony!

My college has wifi all over campus, and while waiting at the bus stop its great to pull out the PSP and play a couple games of twisted metal with other random people over the net. Mmmm... wifi....

Well, to be honest I've been more interested in everything else besides video games that this little thing can do. :)
Personally, I'd love to get my hands on the SDK and build a little E-Book application into it. My fiancee only buys hardcover books, and I usually read 'em once she's done. Me on a bus home from work trying to squeeze this hardcover book into a comfortable reading position while getting smooshed by the other people is quite amusing. The ability to port it to the PSP would be great. Although the screen size is deceiving, it's actually quite clear and can probably fit a decent amount of words on there without causing too much strain on the eyes. the fact that it's *brightly* backlit would be great for nighttime reading, too.
It's just too bad the only way I'll ever see the SDK is by forking over $25k to Sony. It seems they have a very tight hold on it. tight enough that leaks will be virtually impossible. (The SDK is heavily watermarked)
