So how much roughly do arcades cost to ship. One Im looking at would be from Green Bay Wisconsin, to West Valley Utah. Weighing about 380lbs.
For residential they quoted me @ $445
and if I dropped it off at work it was $300
Are these the norm? Cause if thats the case, Im not even going to try and get it. Its not worth it.

Seems normal

It depends on the square footage of said arcade. ;)
No, seriously though thats about right. UPS, DHL, and FedEx won't touch that thing so the only way you can get it shipped is through a frieght carrier. unfortunatley they screw you on residential services and charge you more if you need a lift gate.
the $300 sounds right, $445 is kind of pricy even for residential services. you might be able to find something a little cheaper but not a whole lot.

Damnit, its not fair. Well forget buying arcades off ebay. I wish lame Utah had auctions to go to. Ah well.........gonna have to find somewhere to buy arcades from. Gotta fill up my game room ;).
-
in that case what game is it? I live in WI.
-
Just to clarify, you're looking to buy an arcade CABINET, not a whole arcade right? (Arcade = a place with many machines).
-
not sure on your situation, but wonder what it would cost to fly one way there, rent a u-hual and drive back... you could make it into a mini-vacation and see part of the country... just a thought

Read ebay's "Machines" category with results sorted by "distance: nearest first". That way, you'll only look at games near enough to pick up.

If you really want it, either call around yourself or drive and get it. It'll take you a weekend.
I'll be doing that in the summer to get a game or two or three... ;D
-
Also, if you are really having trouble finding stuff try running an advertisement in the paper. You will almost certainly get a call or two. Also, be sure and check the paper every day, there are games to be had in the paper almost ever week in most places.

:P Yes a cabinet. Sunset Riders
I wouldnt mind driving a bit to pick one up, but not THAT far, just the money on gas would be ridiculous. I didnt know about the distance filter on ebay, Ill use that thanks.
I just got back from a local Nicklecade to price machines. They are way too much. But I did talk to a guy there who knows people with games, and I gave him my email. He also pointed me in the direction of an online forum for Utah Game Geeks. So Im heading in a better direction. Thanks guys.

If you ever get a Sunset Riders then I have most of an NOS sideart set, I believe I have one whole side and one section of the other one.
