To all the veteran vector artists on here (you know who you all are!)

I think it's a good idea for the most part...It's great that you've taken the initiative to organize the efforts of the AI gurus, but I see placing all related artwork into a single zip as unnecessary. The added bandwidth requirements may be prohibitive for Mahuti; also defining "complete" can be tricky when referring to arcade artwork. Are you talking about the instructions as well as coindoor inserts/instructions being included? Some cabinets had variant sideart/cpos/etc...Will those be included in the same *.zip? One could ask the same questions regarding conversion kit artwork(often slightly different from the dedicated version) or about Willis or other bootleg stuff. You're the expert and I really like your work, but I see the efforts of the vector pros vectorizing a single game at a time more important than creating semi-arbitrary ways of organizing the files. I would like to help you start plowing through the games, though. My artwork skills are limited, but I like to submit digital photos when I can, and have lent Mahuti artwork for scanning/vectorizing. Let's get the ball rolling; I'll do what I can to help...Pick a game, any game ;D
End of line

organisation is an hard thing to perform.
count me on this, I am volunteer to join the "task force".
just a few notes.
as mentioned by rohan, what's a full set ??
I agree that having a set of the most relevant artwork parts for one cab will be the goal. but is the source available.
let me take an example.
Popeye: for the momment the side art and the marquee are available as vector, and there is also the coin sticker and 3 InstCards. but what about the CPO and the bezel ?? as long as the source material is not available we could not complete the set.
side note (if any-one have those missing parts I'll be the tracer)
furthermore what about the set, wich instcard to include ??
other problem I can imagine
I may see some quality problems, some of the art on AAL are of incredeble qulity, some other are on lowest quality.
merging those may leed to an inacurate set ;-)
and I have to admit that tracing Instruction cards is not my "cup of tea". we are enclined to trace art that represent something for us, and that have some appeal for us. what if none of us is enclined to trace some missing piece ?
once I have said this I just want to ensure you that you can count me on ;-)

The bezel in MAME is a great reference for tracing...As for the CPO, I'm still looking for decent quality pics...I'll probably just go take a picture at a local arcade.

Regarding instruction cards, I know people love vectorizing but it's not always necessary. I think a "complete" set can exist without everything being vectored, especially since not everything can be.(i.e. Strider Sideart)
P.S. Some colors are totally wrong on the MAME bezel...If you intend to use it for tracing I can send another reference pic with proper bezel color scheme.
thank's for the input, I'll give a try to the MAME bezel, in order to see if I can do something with this one.
I also appreciate all the reference material you'll be able to provide.

You can count me in as well. How much time I can dedicate to it at any given point depends on how busy work is, but I've been using Illustrator for over a decade and would love to help out.

I know Mahuti has a lot of projects on his plate at the moment...You may want to ask him what needs to be traced...Check the vector wip thread for his current projects.

Zorg, here's a tiny pic with the correct popeye bezel colors

thanks
I'll add the Popeye Bezel to my long long todo list ;D

This guy has a somewhat better example of the Popeye bezel with the correct colors as well as other great mame bezels...Thanks to Mameworld.net for

Lame. FIle planet downloads. I'm out. By the way AdENuff... if it hasn't been updated already I'll update the Dig Dug bezel this weekend. I know you sent it to me a while back but I've been in over my head with real life lately. Thanks for getting that squared away.
-
Could just add a link to the pages.
Example:
I click on the popeye bezel, it shows a link that says "click here for cp", "click here for marquee", etc. That way you'd know at a glance what was available.
-
Yeah, you could add cross-link comments.

No problem, glad its done. The only thing that needs adding is the text above the bottom part of the bezel.
Rohan informs me it says "Engineered and designed by Namco, Ltd. Manufactured under license by Atari Inc."
Then I think that bezel is 100% done.

Here's a better reference pic for the Popeye CPO found on eBay until I get photos from the next SuperAuction(Notice the missing text next to the Nintendo logo; refer to pic just below).
