Title: WTB: Star Wars Yoke Parts
Post by: diplo on March 22, 2005, 04:19:36 am
So I finally got a star wars yoke!  All I got is the base so I need to round up some parts or find a source for repo parts.  Here is what I think I need:

1.  Handles, both sides
2.  Small gear and pot for up/down axis
3.  Small gear and pot for left/right axis
4.  Cover

If anyone is selling any of these parts let me know.  If you know of a place to purchase repo parts I would appreciate that too.  Thanks

Diplo

Isn't that list nearly the entire yoke?  What exactly do you have?

I hope the list is not the entire yoke otherwise this thing is going to weigh 20 pounds!  I've got the main base minus the parts requested above.

The yoke actually is fairly heavy.

Good luck find thing these parts.  As I have a yoke that is missing the internals and       I have yet to find the internal.  Your only luck is to find a broken yoke on ebay, but those are selling for $100+ now-a-days.

I assume he'll be selling them for $200 if not more

His first batch was priced at $165.

But this batch will be USB ready.  So I assume it'll be $200.

Will the grips from happs: http://www.happcontrols.com/joysticks/50250800.htm or the ones from the real bob roberts fit the star wars yoke and work correctly?

Thanks for the diagram and description.  I have the handles now and everything else I think I can buy.  Can I buy or make something to hold the small gears in place once I get the ones referenced above?  Also, do all pots come standard with the posts that fit into small gears?  Thanks again for all the help

hold off a bit before you buy any gears, i might have just found a source for a rebuild kit that includes 4 gears, buttons and some other odds and ends.

i'm not sure they are still available but i have an email into the guy who had them. the pricing seemed pretty reasonable circa 2004. if he still has them it might have changed, since i don't know what it will be for sure(or if he still has some) i'm gong to hold off on that info...no point in putting up possibly bad information.

i need one of these as well, so lets hope he has at least to kits left.
