I thought I read a post here recently where somebody was looking for an inexpensive 'small' hard drive. Microcenter has this 80 gig for $30 after rebates. Just in case anybody's interested:

i think it said you get a $30.00 rebate, so its actually $60.00 for the HD.

It looks like it says there are two seperate 30 dollar rebates.

Exactly. One requires the original UPC and the other only asks for a copy.

is it getting sent to 2 diff places ? First time I see a rebate like this for one product, getng sent to 2 or more palces to get money back.

I think one is from WD and the other is from Microcenter.

Best Buy this week has a 160 gb for $40 after rebate... better deal in my opinion

My 200 gig I bought on black friday has two seperate rebates. Nothing new. Rebates just suck in general though ;)

I just posted it because i had read that somebody was looking for a small HD. Maybe for an older OS and/or mobo bios, I don't know. The discussion revolved around buying used drives from other people here or buying off eBay, so I figured I'd post the Microcenter info. Not the hottest deal in the world, but if you're looking for a smaller drive, $30 seems reasonable to me.

yea its a solid deal, their rebate have always come back for me. this one, is $89+tax(if in one of the states) then you get your 2 $30 rebates.
-
btw, just looked at bestbuy.com and didn't see the $40 for 160gig drive deal.
Is it over? Or do I need to go the the store itself? I would love to pick one up.
