Ok, I'm hacking up my 2-up x-arcade.

Are you serious?  NOBODY has tried to go rotary with an X-Arcade?  Anybody?  Bueller? ..... ???

Well, so far, no go.  I can't seem to get the x-arcade to work with Druin's rotary interface  http://connect.to/rotary .  For some reason, the x-arcade chip has different ground loops going to "groups" of buttons.  The rotary interface uses only one ground, like a common ground.  I can't seem to make more than one button work at a time because of this.  I can get either clockwise or counter-clock movement, but only one at a time.  And for some reason, You have to put the GROUND wire of the buttons in the CCW or CW port of the rotary interface, and the OTHER wire (clock or counter clock button)  in the GROUND of the rotary interface.  Any help???   ???

Druins interface just spits out a signal that has to go through an encoder .

Finally, after speaking with x-arcade and Druin (Jason),  The rotary interface WILL NOT work with the x-arcade.  The x-arcade uses oscillating signal, around 1 Volt each time you press a button, and is wired and grouped much differently than an I-Pac or equivalent.  Druin's interface uses 5 Volts, and the way it's made, is not compatible with the x-arcade chip.  Unless of course, someone out there proves me wrong...  Otherwise, I DO NOT suggest trying to go rotary with the x-arcade's existing chip.   :(
