I live in Jackson, Michigan and I have already built a custom Jukebox that currently has over 16,000 songs on it. I am getting ready to build my MAME cabinet, and thought I would save a little time and buy an empty cabinet to start with, but I am not having any luck finding one within driving distance. I don't want to pay $100 for the cabinet and $200 to have it shipped, so I would like to find a useable cabinet somewhere in Michigan. Anyone have any leads for me?
Thanks, Mark

There is a guy I've bought from before near Battle Creek. Peter J.T. Mathis (wolf@cbpu.com)
Try him. StateDetroit on this board also has a habit of hoarding cabinets so you may want to ask him ;D. He's in Detroit.
You could also wait for the Kalamazoo SuperAuction in April.
Good luck,
Todd

I will probably go looking for a moon patrol or tempest project for cheap. The main reason to go is for the pins at the zoo. That is a great chance to play a lot of pinball for not a lot of money (all the pins are on free play).
I went last year, and stuff seemed to go for too much money. I didn't buy anything. But the pins at the zoo are awesome and will make you want to buy a pin.

I'm looking for Playchoice 10 Kit. If you know of one please let me know.

I may have one for free, depending on whether or not my friend takes it. Check back before the super auction - I may want the space :)

Correction on this, an empty cab, not a playchoice kit.

The auctions very seldom have vector games, when they do they usually work. I don't think I have ever seen a dead color vector at an auction (seen a few battlezones). Vector stuff usually brings ebay price or higher at live auctions.
There is no getting a good deal on a project game at the auction if is a top tier title like Tempest. If there is a Tempest at the auction then a bunch of people will wait for it. It could be the last game in a 12 hour auction and there would STILL be several dozen guys trying to buy it.
But good deals can really be had on the second tier of games, like Q*Bert, Moon Patrol, etc. The Williams games have now also dropped down to the second tier (due to Multi-Williams) and deals can now be had on those as well.
Last St. Louis superauction had a dead galaga way at the end of the auction with 50 guys waiting to bid on it, I think it brought $500 and it wasn't even very nice. After that Galaga the number of active bidders dropped from like 60 to about a dozen.

however a cabinet is a great place to start. Please keep me in mind

I plan to head out for the Kzoo auction next month and likely the one in June also (I'm addicted ;D). I've found a few deals at auction. I got my Mappy for $150 last year and picked up my Q*Bert project for $30 (converted JAMMA game).
