Post by: Mikew88 on March 16, 2005, 08:50:03 pm
I have an G07 Tube for sale, it has some Ms. Pac burn, but it isn't that bad. It has no chassis. Im selling it because i don't want to buy a chassis and dont want it laying around. You can see pics at:

No offense, but that tube is trash.  I can't imagine anybody wanting one with such severe burn.

Concur.  Tube = worthless with all that exteme burnin. Frame + yoke: Minimal value (< $5 to most people, ~$10 to the right person locally that wouldn't have to pay shipping)

Only value is to someone that has a working G07 chassis (high impedence), and a donor tube from a TV set free of burn., and the ability/knowledge to swap them in and reconverge.

Almost anybody who "does" monitors will have more trashed g07 tubes than they know what to do with, you can safely garbage chuck that one, you might want to keep the metal frame (I always do).

Keep the yoke and frame -- toss the tube. You might need them in the future.  (or turn the yoke into a scrap copper recovery center and make a buck or so... copper prices are increasing VERY fast lately)

I used to scrounge rummage sales "free" piles or streets during clean up week to find spare non-burned tubes out of supposed dead/non-wanted TV's.  Now I have competition from the metal scroungers who break the neck of the tube, and pop off the yoke to turn it in for scrap copper.
