Title: Starwars buttons
Post by: Voodooray on March 16, 2005, 02:43:10 pm
Hi gang.
I'm building a Starwars yoke and i wondered if someone could tell me the button assignments for Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes back. It's been so long since i played it on a real yoke i can't remember what the buttons do.

Thanks guys.

On the SW games, they're all mapped to fire, so you could actually wire them all to one input.  However, you may want to keep them separate anyway, if you plan to use your yoke to play any other games.  For instance, Spy Hunter uses a 270 degree wheel with different inputs for R-trigger, L-trigger, R-thumb and L-thumb.

BTW, your homebrew yoke looks nice!

They do all fire, BUT the game recognizes them as 4 separate inputs in test mode and ONE of them does something different in the walker scene in Empire.

I like your yoke also. I know there is some kinda tutorial on how to build one of those here. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Just in passing, I believe that Spy Hunter's yoke has two index-finger buttons, two thumb buttons and one hub button for summoning the Weapons Van. :)

Thanks for the info guys.
It's the first thing i have built and it's going pretty well. The grips look a bit scew whiff in the photo, but their not...honest ;).
There was a post about a diy yoke somewhere further down the board, i just altered that slightly to fit my needs. I used the bearing from a playstation wheel i bought for
