Title: VGA cable? Or is there a better option?

I need 13 conductors for an SNES controller (UDLR, ABXY, SelStrt, LR & Grnd) and I'm thinking that a VGA monitor cable would most likely be the easiest option...

The main things that I'm concerned about is the added weight and loss of flexibility in the cord when going from the SNES's 7 conductor, super flexible wire to a VGA's usually stiff 14.

Is there maybe a low quality VGA cord that uses a high gauge stranded wire and thin walls?  Maybe a better option?

It's hard to believe that there's no 13 conductor wire that comes close to the flexibility of a controler cable.

Also, I'm open to any and all types of connectors as long as I can get one fairly cheaply, on the cable ends and something to go into a project box or the like.

WTF!  I was just doing a bit more searching on my problem and I came accross THESE! (http://www.l-com.com/jump.jsp?lGen=productleader&itemID=208&itemType=PRODUCTLEADER&iMainCat=35&iSubCat=120&iSubSubCat=121&iProductID=208)  Holy expensive!  For a 10 foot cord (two 5 ft controller cords) it would be $47.50 plus shipping...  That's like exactly what I need too.  Not going to be paying over $150 for some wires though (I would like to put a cord in 2 of each NES SNES and Genesis).

If it's just for a controller, why bother with VGA cables? I'd consider two CAT5 cables (16 conductors total) and tie-wrap 'em. Or maybe go get a cheap 25-pin LTP cable?

It seems to me that you can get bulk cable very cheaply and then put whatever connector you want on the ends.

I have a butt load of bad 15" monitors
I can cut the wires and mail you some.
just pay ship.

But are they those like
