Title: Where to get buttons in the UK
Post by: Skippy2k on March 14, 2005, 06:44:12 pm
Hi Guys, first time I posted here but been a reader for a few years, you helped alot when I was doing my arcade cabinet.

Anyhow I was wondering if anyone know where I could get me self a few buttons for my control panel, I did have some spares but I misplaced them.

I am only after 3 buttons and a player 1 and player 2 button which I can get from ultimarc but the shipping will cost the same as the goods.

Dont want to order from happs because of the $25 order, did see some on ebay for a quid but there black and I was after blue.

Anyone know where to get any.

You could try this (http://www.coin.demon.co.uk/) place.

If you are in a major city then look up vending, amusement, or coin op in the phone book, you will probably be able to walk in someplace local and buy them. They will cost more than online, but you won't be paying shipping.

I got my buttons, joysticks, and trackerball from Ultimarc and  am very happy with them.

The only issue I had was the post and packaging cost is not flexible. I was happy to pay several pounds (7 I think) for my main order, but when I found I had underestimated the number of buttons, couldn't justify the same postage cost for just 2 buttons.  As a result I looked on ebay and bought a couple for a good price, and low postage cost, which again I am pleased with. Just search for MAME, and there are frequently sellers of buttons and joysticks, in the 'buy now' category, from I assume dealers, or from the public (make sure they include the microswitches).
