hi all,
I've been lurking for a few weeks, thanks for all the great info!!
here's a Photoshopped mock up of the art for my Defender cabinet I built from scratch with MDF.

What's up with the control panel? ???
That button layout is wacked... :-\
Is that the reason for the "HELL" part in the title?

My appologies, I was rude... :-X
It just seems that it would be hard to play 4 button games with that button layout.
It doesn't seem very natural for your longest fingers to be the closest to your palm.
Anyhow, I think the theme is definately unique & you should go for it.
You should also look @ this... (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,33537.0.html)
I just keep looking at those buttons & keep trying to picture playing on it & it looks like it'd be uncomfortable, but as long as you like it, more power to ya.
Again, sorry for the rude comments earlier... It was a gut reaction.

Get the artwork printed so that it is an oval or a circle shape instead, oval or circle shaped sideart looks a zillion times better than the rectangle that came with most conversion games.

I think the concept itself is hilarious but you oughtta post the art over in the Artwork forum, and get some suggestions there.
I would say to really push the 70s theme to the max. Get more colors and shapes involved. Have you ever watched the 'I Love the 70s' shows on VH1? The graphics that they use are pretty ideal. At the very least, I think you might be disappointed with how that marquee is going to look when backlit. Try using some color in the logo, instead of just black and white.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Or you could replace the guy in the picture with:
Disco Stu!

LOL - the guy in the picture is me! And ironically, I emailed a picture of disco stu to the artist for inspiration!!
