A couple of other fixes to seemingly expensive problems. I had no access to a router and so I went ahead and epoxied my T-molding to the side of the MDF, touched up with Goop, definitely not the cleanest job, but still tight after much pounding. Maybe I

By the Way, the frontend is MameWah and I forgot to thank MinWah for his excellent work on that frontend, in case he ever runs into this thread. So, thanks a million.

Nice work, all in all... but you might want to think about cleaning up all that wiring. It's gonna be a nightmare to trace any problems that may arise...

That looks good Ken, im more a fan of an arcade cabinet but nice.

Haruman,
I absolutely agree, my wiring abilities remain in the early stages of development. I just can't seem to break away from playing the box to get something more organized set up. Also, I'd be afraid of breaking off a few of the soldered connections from the psx pad on player 1. I've seen that hassle before. Anyway, I kind of dig the gasp I get from non-electrical engineers when they see the rat's nest inside my box, kind of like the applause the mother gets for making rice krispy treats because she messed up her hair and threw flour on her face ... or something like that. Thanks a lot for the comment. My fiance's (just got engaged) studying and I have to tell my friend to quiet down because he keeps yelling "Oh, yeah!" with the announcer whenever he gets a brand new toaster or a year's supply of meat.

Hey tommy,
Thanks. I agree, although I share a very small apartment with my fiance, so I couldn't have both a computer desk and a big arcade box. I could never justify the expense. We already use the computer as a television, i.e. to watch DVD's, so I have considered the possibility many times of taking it to the next level and making a cocktail cabinet that would have a permanent keyboard shelf, a modular attachment for my existing panel, and an adjustable monitor for viewing DVD's. That way, we could scrap the admittedly oversized desk and I could fulfill my fantasy of having an arcade box in the home. So: cocktail/computer desk/breakfast table/home theater or nothing--if you get my drift. Thanks again. Maybe I'll have my ideas together by summer, always a nice time to get other things done when you're a substitute teacher.

There is away around this... If you look close enough at my picture, I have hot glue over the places that I have soldered on the pad. Use the hot glue like it's going out of style, that should prevent any broken connections. :)

HarumaN,
Yeah, looking closely at your amazingly organized cp guts, I can see opaque globs on the solder points. Thanks a lot for the tip. I knew I shouldn't have passed up on that three dollar glue gun. By the way, how are those vertical cherry switches, if that's what they are--less clicky? Ultimate pushbuttons, right?

Yeah, they are vertical Ultimates. They are a little less clicky, but some members here swear by the horizontal variety for responsiveness. Me, I have both, can't really tell a difference. :)
Yeah, get a hot glue gun. Can't beat what you can do with them, and they are pretty darn cheap. Good luck with your panel, looks good!
