Hey all,
1st time poster, just announcing my new cocktail cabinet the DRUNKADE. started roughly 2 weeks ago and should be finished in another weekish or so... have pics and website will go into production once the project is finished.
will be based on an AMD 1100 processor on a LG 19" monitor. with all emulation options.
hopefully i ease up on the booze whilst building and stop forgetting to take photos (only have like 6 pics at the moment, get a bit carried away while working)
-
lol...avoid power equipment whilst drinking...(or hungover..:-)
but seriously, even a router can leave your intestines laying in your lap..take care..
-
so will you be drunk before using it or will it have enough cupholders for a six pack? good luck.

Ick! I could have done without that image!

well thanks for the lecture on responsible drinking 8)
however, i guess the name kinda gives the wrong impression. Its mainly called that as i am a very keen homebrewer, and have a 5 keg setup with taps n' all setup close to where the cab is setup.
Also have a home-made hardwood bar setup next to it. which was made with a few beers during construction too. full pics when finished.
Anyway, am at the painting stage now. got the undercoat on now, too bad OZ Stick ran out of bat-handle joysticks, so i have to wait longer now.

oooooh...a cocktail with it's own beer on tap...oh man. arcade bliss. now all you'd need was a pretty laldy to play against, and you'd never have to leave your chair. unless you needed to take the wiz.
lets see some pics already, of your brewery too.
-
Thats a great name for the rig, cant wait to see some progress pics! 8)
-
Ok ill whet your appetite with some progress pics... Not showin the final setup till its done though.... dont wanna spoil the surprise.
Oh and flinkly my girly is quite excited about the project also, and shes definatley not a bad looker!!!!

As you can see its pretty wide compared to some other cocktail cabs.
the access door will have the coin mech in it. its lockable too.
the paint looks shithouse but thats from the flash (well thats what im saying) looks quite good in real-time. The control panel is currently in progress. havent got the top sorted out yet, waiting till everything else is in and ready first.
the legs that are going to go on it are from a couch my mates got lying around.. quite stylish im led to believe.
oh, and that fridge in the background is part of my OLD brewery setup! ;) its too bad the cab is blocking the view of the 7 beer fermenters i have setup under the house..
nothing like a good aussie pale ale to quench my working thirst!
Hope you enjoy the look.. more pics when i get my website kickin.

Hey scales,
Nice to see another homebrewer frequenting the boards. Or are you pro? How big are your fermenters? I usually go with five gallon carboys, but I have many so I can produce quite a bit. I have a couple hundred bottles around the house and a couple of five gallon kegs, will begin brewing for my best friend's wedding soon, probably some American style pale ale with a lot of fresh hops from Oregon.
To stick with the subject, nice choice goin' with the cocktail. I also want one, but mine has to be multifunction enough to at least replace the desk or I won't be able to convince my girlfriend of the necessity (must get bigger computer monitor, although the prices of 21" monitors aren't exactly making me happy).
Cheers,
KenToad

Whoops, edit that last remark. I see from the previous post that you claim to be only a homebrewer--with 7 250 gallon fermenters, right? ;)

Is that fan on the front or side? Is it meant to cool off your crotch?
-

-
well the things on the front are actually 6" pioneer speakers..
in regards to my brewing, i have no idea how large they are in gallons, im an Aussie you see 8). but there are a few 25L ferm's and 2 or something 30L ones. The kegs are 22L and i have heaps of those things around the joint.
I agree on the DIY of ppl on this board, why buy when its so much better doing it yourself?
Progress is going fantastic on the box at the moment, wired up all my power lines last night including my speakers, amplifiers, 400w power supply and cooling fans... also screwed in a 12v busbar for attaching any other 12v accesorrys. the control panel is pretty much done except for the joystick holes (waiting for sticks in the post) the control panel is going to be laminated with kitchen-bench type stuff.
Still have to get some high-shine aluminium to put on the corners of the cab, then its decorating time!!
got a 40gb and a 10gb off ebay for 60 bucks the other day, so im waiting for those to arrive before mounting the motherboard.
all in all, i think this time next week i should be at game-on stage.

Don't forget to get some tapper controls....budweiser would be the preferred version....
Allroy
-
sorry, im unfamiliar with specific tapper controls... i just use the joy as normal for that game.
Budweiser??!?!?! pffft... Commercial sludge-beer.. ;)
-
Last time i was using the table saw I got trashed, then i starting cutting small pieces with no push stick. Plus it looked like crap. Don't drink and use tools kids.
-
errr well thats just plain silly.
If you all have seen the page, it is justly named for my hobby bar. i may have had a few beers whilst working on it, but no more than on any other hard work around the house. i drink enough to know how to drink responsibly, if you cant figure out how to do that... then dont drink.

it was just plain stupid, i will never drink and use tools again. I have watched a fellow worker lose most of their hand from the table saw. Not from intoxication, but I have seen what it can do. I guess it opened my eyes.

Yep. Bud is one poor excuse for a beer.

Yeah, sometimes really cool games can be made from/about/while drinking (see Atari) really bad beer.
