Title: Modulators

I need a tv with s-video, well, beacuse its a much better picture. My question is, does a modulator with a s-video component work as good as a tv with s-video right on it? This would be good to know because i have a good 27" tv and a modulator is only about 60$, so if anyone can answer me this, thanks.
