Title: building a control panel, need help.
Post by: rabbid on March 09, 2005, 11:55:15 pm
I'm building a  2 player control panel and was wondering should i get 1 I-PAC2 board or 2 and 1 OPTI-PAC? here is what my control panel will consist of.

  39 buttons, 12 of these will be dedicated: 2 coin buttons,1 and 2 player,pause,reset,etc.
  4- happs perfect 360 joysticks,2 per player
  1- happs 3" track ball
  1- slikstik tornado spinner
  1- 49 way joystick
  1- 4 way joystick
1- happs heavyduty 8-way trigger joystick

everything is spaced properly for easy hand placement,no bumping into other controls. control panel is 45" wide and 18 1/2" deep.

You would need an IPAC4  to hook up your joysticks and buttons and the Opti-pac for the Trackball and spinner and a 49wiz Interface board from Keywiz for the 49 way joystick.

Are you putting all that on one CP?

Actually, he wouldn't need an I-pac 4 because the Wiz 49 will get him 23 buttons by itself.
He should be fine with an I-pac 2.

And he can skip the Optipac by just ordering a PS2 or USB trackball to begin with. Since the Tornado spinner already has a built in interface anyway.
