Title: Keyboard/ Mouse inputs or USB better for IPAC and OPTIPAC?
Post by: the3eyedblindman on March 09, 2005, 07:08:11 pm
In a few days I will be purchasing my IPAC and Opticac to wire up my controls, and then my Mame machine will be done. I was wondering what works better for these, the USB input versions or the Keyboard and Mouse inputs. I have a usb hub, and my keyboard and mouse have switchable usb/ keyboard mouse inputs, So I can use either or for each. So should I put the actual keyboard and mouse through USB or the IPAC and Optipac through USB?

I'd put the mouse/keyboard on USB.
That way you can hotswap them on when necessary, but leave them disconnected when you don't need them.

The PS/2 ports are also a little faster than USB, but not noticably so, in most cases.

it seems that sometimes people have problems with USB on certain mobos and almost never have problems with PS/2, so you should probably go PS/2
