Title: Joystick restrictor plates for 4-way ultimate?
Post by: electricd on November 04, 2002, 01:26:51 pm
Hello,

I am looking for restrictor plates for my ultimate 4-ways to elimate the controls from even moving into the diagnal position.  I see the oscarcontrols sells these for external use, but I need to get some that mount to the bottom of the sticks somhow as they are already mounted in my panels.  These can be permanantly mounted as I never intend to change them (i have 2 4ways and 2 8ways in the panel permanantly).  Has anyone seen such a thing, and can point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

You can do diagonals?  Then you don't have atrue 4way joystick....

It is a Happ Ultimate 4-way.  The same exact joystick with a different actuator at the bottom (round instead of sqaure.).  Anyway can anyone help me without me having to buy different sticks?  Thanks!

Please anyone...im dying here! hehe j/k but really would like to get this problem solved.  Any and all suggestions would be appriciated.  I guess I wouldnt be opposed to changing the 2 sticks out.  Anyone know of a good "true" 4-way with the same mounting holes as the Happ Ultimate that will work on 3/4" wood panels?  Has to be bottom mount and has to have same hole pattern.  Thanks!

you can order peices of the joysticks from happs, when i first bought mine i bought 4 way on accident, so i just bought the bottom actuator and the plate above, just goto the page for hte jstick, look at the exploded view and you can see the parts that vary slightly from one the other.

i think i have what you need seeing as i went from 4 to 8 on some happs ultimates, email me if interested

upon a little further examination, the parts i have are #95-1314-00 4 way actuator plate, i also have the actuators #95-1307-00

the difference between the 8 way and 4 way plates is suttle but the 4 way is more like a clover and the 8 way is a circle, he actuator mattes as well, he 4 way uses teh round, and the 8 way uses the square

check out the exploded view at happs.

let me know if you need what i gots 80)

Joysticks like the Happ ultimate that convert between 4 way and 8 way by changing the actuator are not true 4 way joysticks. All changing the actuator does is prevent 2 switches from makng contact. In my opinion these aren't good because the joystick still moves diagonally. http://www.Ultimarc.com sells true 4 way and 8 way switchable sticks. When you switch to 4 way the stick is physically prevented from diagonal directions. I think Happs also sells some good ones that switch from 8 way to true 4 way.

the actuator plate is actually different in the 2 as well, the 4 is mor elike a fat X as opposed to the 8 way which is just circle. mayhaps when i get home i'll shoot a snapo of the 4 way hole so you guys can see.

as far as finding the pic on happs goto amusement/joysticks/ultimate, then click exploded view.
