Title: Converting a Punchout to Playchoice 10 Question
Post by: Josh on March 08, 2005, 04:55:17 pm
I found a dual monitor Punch Out cabinet I can pick up for $250. It is currently running Superman on both monitors. How hard would it be to convert it to a dual monitor Playchoice 10 cabinet? The monitors both look great and the cabinet is in fairly good shape. Would it be worth the trouble to convert it? I would also need a playchoice 10 control panel I thing. Are they easy to come by? Thanks for any help you can provide

The control panel can be fabricated if needed, so I wouldn't consider that to be a huge obstacle. However, according to KLOV:

A Nintendo Punch-Out!! cabinet can be converted to a PlayChoice 10 (dual monitor version) but a two-player wiring harness must be acquired.

That sounds like something that might be tricky to scrounge up. In any case, good luck with the project, I'd love to have a Playchoice 10 myself.

I have a PC 10 cab I plan on restoring back into a Punch-Out!  It's currently running Blood Bros. with the Playchoice Control Panel (2 buttons on a 3 buttoned game - ack!)  So it is Jamma wired right now.

I'd be happy to swap the PC10 CP for a Punch-Out! but it sounds like your CP has maybe been modified or replaced for Superman?  Any pics?
